We will be holding an open club meeting this Saturday in the GAA Hall, Croagh village at 8pm.

There will be one item on the agenda as follows:
  • Discussion on proposed restructuring of the Divisional Boards
There will be an open discussion on the proposal outlined below and it's effects on the West Divisional board as it currently exists. We have been asked by the West Board to fill out a survey questionnaire on the night and submit it to them for review with our thoughts.

A Special County Committee Meeting will be held on Tuesday, 11th November 2025 at 8pm in the Woodlands House Hotel, Adare, to discuss the proposed changes.

Proposal:
As part of Limerick GAA Strategic Plan 2025–2028. A comprehensive review of the Divisional Boards has led to a proposal for a new structure aimed at strengthening club support and enhancing governance across the county.

🔍 Key Highlights of the Proposed Structure:

Four new regional committees will replace the existing Divisional Boards.

Each committee will consist of six officers
  • Chairperson
  • Secretary
  • Marketing & Communications Officer
  • Club Development & Sustainability Officer
  • School & Academy Link Officer
  • Facilities & Grants Support Officer

These committees will:
  • Support club development and strategic planning
  • Promote volunteerism and community engagement
  • Liaise with schools and manage local academies
  • Assist with grant applications and facility improvements
  • Enhance communications and sponsorship efforts
  • Uphold governance and cultural initiatives

🗣️ Club & Divisional Feedback:

  • Strong support for maintaining local competitions and rivalries
  • Calls for clearer roles and better integration with County Board
  • Recognition of the Divisional Boards’ historical value and potential future roles

📌 What’s Next?

  • Officers will be appointed via an open call for expressions of interest.
  • Training and induction will be provided in early 2026.
  • Committees will have voting rights at County Committee meetings and report annually at County Convention.
This new structure is designed to empower clubs, streamline operations, and align with the strategic goals of Limerick GAA. It represents a bold step forward in ensuring the continued growth and success of Gaelic games in our county.
