Our Junior C Hurlers ended their first season on a high last night with a tremendous 6 point win over Staker Wallace in Mick Neville Park on a score line of 3-18 to 3-12.

This was a tremendous performance right from the start with some excellent scores both from play and from frees. With every player giving their all, we went in at half time up a goal 2-7 to 1-7.
We knew that we needed a big performance in the second half and the positive and encouraging attitude at half time by every player made that possible.

Stakers got the first 2 points of the second half and the margin was down to one, some great individual play and some excellent team passing created a number of goal opportunities and when we finally got that third goal we pushed on and added some excellent points some for long range and tight angles. Mid way through the second half we were 11 points up but in true fashion Stakers didn't give in and scored two quick goals to narrow the margin. We responded again with a few more points to see they game out by 6 points in the end.

The was no more than the team deserved, their final game in the championship and their first win.

The club would like to sincerely thank all 32 players who togged out and played for the Junior C's in their first year, we had 5 players who played all 6 games. Only for the Junior C team a lot of these players would not have had the enjoyment of playing hurling this year and it was great to see some players get reconnected with the club after a number of years away.

The club would also like to thank the Team management and especially Liam Lenihan who organised the matches and made sure there was at least 15 players available for every game, well done Liam.

Upwards and onwards and looking forward to 2027 already.
