Today marks the 100 year anniversary of one of the darkest days in GAA history when 14 innocent people were killed following an attack on a Dublin v Tipperary senior football game at Croke Park. An anniversary remembrance ceremony for the victims will be broadcast live on RTE News and RTE Radio One at 6-05pm this evening. 14 torches will be lit on Hill 16 to commemorate the 14 people killed in the attack and a wreath laying ceremony will take place on the site where Tipperary player Michael Hogan was shot, after whom the Hogan stand was subsequently named. All GAA members are encouraged to light a candle in their homes on this Saturday evening to remember those who died on this sad occasion.
