30th August 2020, Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale.

On a fine sunny morning for hurling we took on Askeaton/Ballysteen/Kilcornan in the county U14 hurling semi final at Mick Neville Park.

We had played them earlier in the year in a challenge game and they beat us by 5 points so we knew we would have to be at our very best today to beat them.

We started strongly and played our best hurling of the year and were ahead by 2 points at half time. Askeaton/Ballysteen/Kilcornan had a very strong 3rd quarter and were ahead for the 1st time by 1 point at the water break.

In the final quarter the boys tackled hard and put their bodies on the line to stop Askeaton/Ballysteen/Kilcornan from scoring.

In what was a massive team effort right down to the final whistle we emerged victorious by 2 goals. A massive thanks to the boys for their fighting qualities and never say die attitude.

We held Askeaton/Ballysteen/Kilcornan to just 1-1 in the 3rd quarter which was instrumental in our win.

Final Score: Croagh/Kilfinny/Rathkeale 8-09 (33), Askeaton/Ballysteen/Kilcornan 4-11 (23)

Thanks to the parents that came out to support the team and thanks to Team Management: Barry Lenihan, Seamus Stapleton, Sean Dee and Tomas O'Connor. Well done everyone
