Our U9 hurling team attended the Munster Activity day in Clare GAA Center of Excellence grounds in Caherlohan on Saturday October 15th.

We headed off early from Croagh village with O'Sheas of Kilfinny providing the bus hire for the day, we had a full bus of 21 kids and 9 adults and thanks to Eamon Hanley for driving as well and bringing a few more parents and coaches.

The weather was bad and the forecast was not great for the day but everyone was in flying form.

We had two teams entered so we divided the lads into two teams of 9 as we had two boys injured that travelled with us. We wish Tom Keating and Daniel Mullane a speedy recovery from their injuries.

We were one of the first teams there for the 2nd blitz session and were able to get the best kitted out dressing room where the Clare Seniors tog out so it was great for the boys to witness that.

Our first game was at 12:30pm and thankfully the rain had stopped by then and stayed away for all our games which was great.

Both our teams played Sixmilebridge (Clare), Kilmoyley (Kerry) and Templeglantine (Limerick) and gave a great account of themselves, scoring goals and points and impressing everyone with their silken hurling skills (fair play to the coaches!).

We left Caherlohan at 2:30pm and headed for Supermac's on the Ballysimon Road where the club treated the hungry boys to well earned food and a shop stop as well!.

We got back to Croagh at 4:30pm with lots of tired bodies after a long day. This was our final outing and everyone had a great day.

Thanks to the parents that travelled to Caherlohan and to all the parents who brought the boys to training and matches during the year. Thanks to the coaches Eamon, John and Tomás for their hard work and commitment during the year, but most of all thanks to all the U9 boys who trained hard all year and represented the club with pride and honor during the year.

Well done boys, the future of the club is bright.
